Welcome !

Currently, I am associated with NEA Engineering Company Limited as Senior Specialist (Environment). In this position, I lead various multi-disciplinary teams of experts to carry out environmental and social impact assessments and mitigation planning (Environmental Impact Assessment - EIA, Initial Environmental Examination - IEE, Environmental and Social Management Plan - ESMP) of energy sector projects (i.e. hydropower, transmission line, solar energy). Particularly, I am interested with the application of quantitative tools and techniques including those of geo-information science in the field of environmental assessment, natural resources management, biodiversity conservation and planning.

Occasionally, I write on national newspapers and digital media on contemporary environmental issues and issues of national interest.

Earlier, I was associated with the Department of Environmental Science and Engineering, Kathmandu University as a PhD Research Fellow under the NORHED SUNREM-Himalaya Project "Sustainable natural resource management for climate change adaptation in the Himalayan region" where I was studying the impact of climate change on forest and water resources in Chure - Terai region of Nepal. I was, intermittently, involved with university teaching and supervising also.

I also worked for more than a decade with National Trust for Nature Conservation (NTNC) - a leading conservation organization of Nepal. In early career days, I was primarily involved in the application of GIS and remote sensing for protected area management, forest management, biodiversity assessment and glacier studies. Later, as a Senior Conservation Officer, I was mostly involved in programme planning, monitoring, supervising/co-ordinating project implementation.
